Company overview

Consulting roots. Product-led future.

Our team has been providing business and system consulting, implementation and support services since 1999. Whilst most of the services centred around SAP ERP and related products, STRATO's ERP consulting team has good working knowledge of other ERP applications.

STRATO has been involved in the provision of cloud-based digitalisation solutions to the logistics industry and its customers since 2015. Our digital applications complement and integrate seamlessly with established ERP systems, as well as specialised operational systems, and facilitate business process automation and optimisation.

Team members are carefully selected, highly qualified consultants who have obtained subject matter certification in their areas of expertise. The team's consulting skills cover a broad base of business applications and technologies, with technical skills in programming, mobile applications, cloud and hosting services — complemented by a strong team of project management and change management resources.

Our history

More than two decades of enterprise systems work.

From SAP consulting for medium-sized customers to cloud and mobile products focused on digitalising business processes.

  1. 1999

    Established as Gateway Technologies

Founded in early 1999, providing SAP ERP consulting, implementation and support services to medium-sized SAP customers. Later that year Gateway joined other ERP entities to establish ERP.com Holdings, listed on the JSE, and rebranded as iServe.

  2. 2000

    SAP partner accreditations

iServe was accredited as an SAP National Services Partner and, later in the year, as an SAP Application Hosting Partner. The SAP customer base grew to include larger organisations and international business.

  3. 2004–2005

    SAP Value Added Reseller

Accredited as SAP Value Added Reseller for SAP All-in-One (2004) and SAP Business One (2005).

  4. 2006

    Management buy-out

In December 2006 iServe concluded a management buy-out from ERP.com and refocused the business on SAP.

  5. 2013

    Rebranded as STRATO IT Group

In January 2013 iServe was rebranded as STRATO IT Group, a name adapted from “stratum” — layers arranged one on top of another, the foundation from which to build and grow.

  6. 2015

    Cloud and mobile digitalisation

STRATO began providing cloud-based digitalisation solutions to the logistics industry and its customers, and gradually transitioned towards product development and business consulting.

The STRATO name

The STRATO name is a creative adaptation of “stratum” or “strata” — a layer, or one of several parallel layers arranged one on top of another. It is a metaphor for the company's core competency: putting systems in place, from basic to complex, to ensure seamless business operations.

The circular element symbolises a seamless business process from start to finish, and partnership. The arrow points upward to show progress and growth.

  • 02

SAP Warehouse Management for automotive parts

STRATO resources were instrumental in implementing an SAP Warehouse Management solution for a parts distribution facility that is one of the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere.

  • 03

A group-wide SAP implementation across manufacturing, distribution, warehousing and retail replacing SAP, BAAN and legacy systems, covering core ERP modules, HR/Payroll, Business Warehouse, Advanced Planning and Optimisation, Warehouse Management with RF scanning, and Variant Configuration.

  • 04

Retail branch integration with SAP XI/PI

Developed an SAP XI integration layer between a central SAP ERP instance and SAP Business One across more than 50 retail branches, enhanced over time for high availability of information flows.

  • 05

Integration for public and financial sector
